But even with a curated list in front of you, knowing how to use it well makes a difference. Here is what to know.

What a curated directory does differently

Not all directories are the same. Some are open platforms: anyone pays a listing fee and gets a profile, regardless of experience, training, or quality of work. The burden of sorting the good from the not-so-good falls entirely on you.

A curated directory reviews practitioners before listing them. That does not mean every practitioner will be the right fit for every person, but it does mean the basics have been checked. You are starting from a smaller, cleaner pool.

The Spiritual Healers directory works this way. Every practitioner is reviewed personally before their listing goes live. No automation, no open submissions that publish without review.

How to filter for what you need

Start with modality. What kind of healing are you drawn to, or curious about?

If you are not sure, this guide to modalities is a good starting point. The main categories in the directory include:

  • Energy healing and Reiki
  • Intuitive reading and guidance
  • EFT and somatic approaches
  • Meditation and breathwork
  • Human design and astrology
  • Sound healing
  • Shamanic and ancestral work
  • Tarot and oracle readings

Once you have a modality in mind, filter by it and read through the profiles that come up.

How to read a practitioner profile

A profile tells you more than it seems to if you know what to look for.

Read the bio carefully. Does the practitioner describe their work in a way that is specific and grounded? Or is it vague and full of language that could apply to anyone? Specificity is a good sign. "I work with people navigating grief and life transitions using energy healing and intuitive guidance" tells you something. "I help people heal and grow" tells you almost nothing.

Look at what they specialize in. Most good practitioners have a particular area where they do their deepest work. That might align with what you need, or it might not. Better to find out now than after a session that did not quite fit.

Notice how they describe sessions. A practitioner who can explain clearly what happens in a session with them, what you might experience, what to expect afterward, is someone who has done this work enough to understand it well. Vague session descriptions can signal inexperience or an unwillingness to be accountable.

Check if they work online. Most practitioners in the directory work with clients globally via video. If that is what you need, it will be noted in their profile.

Free listings vs. premium listings

The directory includes both free and premium practitioner listings.

Free listings are vetted and visible in the directory, but contact details are only accessible to members of the Spiritual Healers community. Joining the community is free and takes a minute via Skool.

Premium listings are fully public. Contact details, website links, and social profiles are visible to everyone. Premium practitioners also appear higher in the directory and have more space to describe their work in depth.

Both types of practitioners have been reviewed. The difference is visibility and accessibility, not quality.

How to take the first step

Once you find someone whose profile resonates, the step is simple: reach out.

Most practitioners are warm and approachable. They have chosen this work because they want to help people. A short message saying who you are, what you are dealing with, and asking whether they might be a good fit is all you need.

Many offer a short intro call before a full booking. Take it if it is available. A few minutes of conversation tells you more than a profile can, and it lets both of you check the fit before committing to a full session.

Trust what you feel in that first conversation. The right practitioner for you will feel like someone you can open up to, even before you have said very much.
