Where the concept comes from

The word "Akasha" comes from Sanskrit and refers to the fifth element in Hindu cosmology, the ether or space that pervades and underlies all things. In contemporary spiritual practice, Akashic Records work was significantly developed and systematised by Linda Howe, whose work has trained thousands of practitioners globally. The approach she developed uses a specific prayer or sacred prayer to open the Records, providing a structured and teachable method for accessing the information.

What an Akashic Records reader actually does

A trained Akashic Records reader enters a specific state of consciousness (typically through prayer, meditation, or a set opening process) that allows them to access the Records associated with your soul. Once in the Records, they can receive information through clairvoyance (seeing images), clairaudience (hearing), claircognizance (knowing), or clairsentience (feeling), depending on their natural gifts and training.

What distinguishes Akashic Records reading from other forms of intuitive guidance is its soul-level perspective. A tarot reading, for instance, tends to focus on the current situation and its immediate trajectory.
